Support — CouchPotatoPlayer · Android / Android TV

All app legal information

Find the current Android release on our downloads page.

Player only — no content included

CouchPotatoPlayer contains, provides, sells, or recommends no channels, films, series, playlists, provider access, or subscriptions. You must add your own legally obtained Xtream Codes connection or M3U playlist and hold the rights to access and play it. Support cannot find, recommend, sell, or configure streams, providers, or subscriptions for you.

Supported source types

  • Xtream Codes-compatible connections supplied by your own provider
  • M3U playlists and optional EPG/XMLTV information supplied by you
  • Stalker / Ministra / MAG-compatible portal configurations supplied by your lawful provider

Availability depends on the provider, network, container, codec, track layout, and device. No universal provider or format compatibility is promised.

Add a provider

  1. Open the app and choose Add Provider.
  2. Select Xtream, M3U or Stalker to match your provider.
  3. Enter the exact server/playlist URL and optional EPG information from your lawful service. HTTPS and legacy HTTP are supported.
  4. Enter credentials only in the app. Never send them in screenshots or diagnostic descriptions.
  5. Save, wait for import, then open Live TV, Movies, or Series.

Prefer HTTPS. HTTP remains supported for legacy providers, but the app warns before saving because unencrypted traffic can expose credentials and requests to intermediate networks.

Common network errors

  • Confirm the service works in the provider’s supported environment and has not expired.
  • Check Wi-Fi/Ethernet, VPN, DNS, date/time, and whether the server blocks your device/network.
  • Verify URL scheme, port, username, and password without sharing them with support.
  • Refresh the provider/EPG after the network stabilizes.
  • A timeout, 401/403, empty catalog, or unavailable codec is controlled by different systems; note the exact non-secret error and time.

Stalker / Ministra / MAG

For Stalker / Ministra / MAG, choose the Stalker source type and enter only the portal/device fields supplied or authorized by your provider. Compatibility depends on that portal; the app does not supply a provider or subscription.

Google Cast / Picture in Picture

Android playback, Cast and Picture in Picture depend on the device, system, selected backend and source. Cast is a mobile feature for supported receiver/media combinations; Android TV uses normal remote/D-pad playback. Use only trusted local networks and receivers. Google Drive sync requires a configured build and explicit authorization; follow the app’s status rather than assuming it is available.

EPG help

Confirm the EPG URL and provider time zone, refresh the provider, and allow import to finish. Missing or shifted listings usually originate in the supplied XMLTV/EPG identifiers or timestamps. The app cannot manufacture missing guide data.

Delete data

Delete a provider in the app to remove its local profile and related data. Uninstalling removes local app data subject to Android backup/restore behavior. For Google Drive, use the explicit cloud-backup deletion action separately before disconnecting; disabling sync or uninstalling is not cloud deletion. Your provider retains its own records.

Privacy and contact

Never send provider URLs, usernames, passwords, tokens, personal data, or copyrighted catalog screenshots. If submitting diagnostics in the app, review the displayed scope first; the exporter rejects secret-like fields.
